The Ottawa region is the centre of Canada’s defence and security industry. It is home to over 200 companies employing in excess of 20,000 people. The headquarters of National Defence, the RCMP and Public Safety and Emergency Prepardness Canada are in the region. The industrial base is supported by research at Defence Research Establishment Ottawa, the Communications Research Centre, the Canadian Police Research Centre and our two universities.

 

The Ottawa Security Cluster is a group of companies and organizations that have come together to have the economic strength of the cluster recognized and to fully capture its growth potential.
